Using organically grown produce or products you can create great meals that the whole family can enjoy! Hunter Organic Growers Society wishes to assist in the creation of such meals by offering this FREE online recipe book. Please choose from the list below: Metric Guide Because there is no exact conversion between metric and imperial units, we suggest you replace 1 ounce with 25 grams and 1 fluid ounce with 25 millilitres. In order to preserve the correct ratio of ingredients in a recipe, strict conversion should not be applied. Each imperial measure whether a pound, pint or cup, should be related to the base unit of the imperial system the ounce or fluid ounce. The number of ounces and fluid ounces should be multiplied by 25 to give the metric quantities, thereby preserving the proportions. Liquid proportions should be adjusted if necessary to maintain correct consistencies. Oven Temperature Guide This is an approximate guide only. Different makes of stoves vary and even the same make of stove can give slightly different individual results at the same temperature. If in doubt with your particular stove, do refer to your own manufacturers temperature chart. It is impossible in a general book to be exact for every stove, but the following is a good average guide in every case. The following chart also gives approximate conversions from degrees Fahrenheit to degrees Celsius (formerly known as Centigrade). This chart can be used for conversion of recipes which give oven temperatures in metric measures.
